June Chen, MS, MA - President and CEO

June Chen has master’s degrees in science and mathematics from the Liaoning University of China and the University of Miami, respectively. During her twenty-one year career, she has been an assistant actuary with the Wolper Ross Pension Consulting Company, an actuarial programmer with FDP - a Miami-based pension software company, and an assistant actuary with the John Alden Life Insurance Company. In 1997, she joined IRM as Director of Underwriting and Technical Services, was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2004, and appointed President and CEO in December 2007.

Jacqueline Alvarez, BA - Chief Financial Officer 

Jacqueline Alvarez joined IRM in 2003 as Director of Accounting. She graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Jacqueline has been a member of the Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI) since 1993.  She has over 24 years of experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting for Life and Health Insurance and Reinsurance companies, having worked for John Alden Life Insurance Company for fifteen years and Amedex Insurance Company for three years before joining IRM.  Jacqueline was promoted to Vice President of Finance in April 2008.

Dr. Trevor H. B. Stewart, DBA - Reinsurance Operations Consultant  

Trevor Stewart has a doctorial degree in business administration (DBA) from American Century University and holds professional designations in various aspects of life and health insurance marketing and administration. He is on the adjunct faculty of the International College of the Cayman Islands, and has published several articles on domestic health insurance in the Cayman Islands. During his thirty-five year career, he has held senior positions in underwriting, claims, marketing, and portfolio management with insurance companies in Florida and the Caribbean. In January 2009, he joined IRM as a consultant and has since developed an insurance training module which the company has made available to its reinsurance clients as a value-added service.

Jim Anderson, MBA – Chief Marketing Officer

Jim Anderson is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Business Administration with an Executive MBA, having majored in International Business. A sales professional with experience spanning more than twenty-five years in life accident and health reinsurance with companies and brokers in New York and Miami, Jim has held sales positions with GE ERC, OLYMPUS and, more recently, with PARIS RE. In March 2010, he joined IRM as Chief Marketing Officer to lead the development, analysis and implementation of our business growth strategy.

Margarita Sierra - Regional Claims Director – International Accounts

Margarita Sierra joined IRM in 1999 and directs the claim administration area. She has over 26 years of health insurance claim administration experience and has worked for various multi-national insurance companies doing business in Latin America and the Caribbean. Ms. Sierra studied public relations at the University of the Sacred Hearts in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Rosa Escanaverino – Regional Claims Director for Latin America

Rosa Escanaverino joined IRM in 2010 as Reinsurance Regional Claims Director for Latin America. She has over 25 years of experience in the administration of direct and reinsurance health claims in both the international and domestic market. During her career, Rosa has held administrative and managerial positions with Amedex, International Reinsurance Alliance, GE Insurance Solutions, and BUPA Insurance Company. While employed with GE Insurance Solutions, she received the company’s prestigious Six Sigma certification in process improvement.

Rodrigo Briceno - Regional Underwriting Director – Latin America

Rodrigo Briceno joined IRM in 2005 as Director of Technical Services. He has 27 years of experience in Insurance and Reinsurance in both Property and Life in the Latin American region, most recently concentrating on Reinsurance Contracts. He has worked for multinational reinsurance companies in Panamá and México. He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science in México and has a post-graduate degree in Statistics at Iowa State University.

Armando Echeverri - Regional Underwriting Director – Caribbean/International  

Armando Echeverri joined IRM In 2001 as Marketing Underwriting Assistant, he has held different positions with increased responsibilities, and currently holds the position of Assistant Vice President Marketing Underwriting. He has a Marketing Degree from University Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogotá, Colombia, and has also completed several technical reinsurance courses. For the six years immediately prior to joining IRM, he held managerial positions in different reinsurance brokerage operations in his native Colombia. Armando will be completing his Associate Reinsurance Administration (ARA) designation from LOMA in 2010.

Clara Martell - Administrative Services Director

Clara Martell has extensive professional experience in the areas of Administration and Human Resources. During her career of more than 30 years, she has worked in the international banking divisions of both Bankers Trust Company of NY and Barnett Bank of South Florida, and in the educational system as a school registrar and preschool supervisor at a private school. For the ten years immediately prior to joining IRM in 2007, she was the Administrator/Human Resources Manager for the largest multi-national manufacturing and retail school uniform company in the Southeastern United States.

Fredy A. Leiva, BA, MS – Senior Marketing Underwriter   

Fredy A. Leiva joined IRM in January 2008 as an underwriter for life and health reinsurance in Latin America. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and a Master’s in Insurance Management Techniques from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, Spain. During his career of more than 15 years in the industry, he has worked in various specialized areas, including life, health and accident insurance underwriting; training; product development; and results analysis oriented to business strategies.
